BLIS Advantage: Bundled Pricing with Price Certainty

The BLIS data set allows BLIS to price the risk of surgical complications more efficiently than standard market rates.  As a result, your hospital and bariatric surgeon can pursue employer partnerships and offer bundled pricing at better rates than traditional insurance plans.

Employers and businesses can work directly with your hospital and BLIS Surgeon to pay for bariatric surgery for their employees. With BLIS protection in place, the employer receives firm per-procedure bundled pricing, improved employee health and improved bottom line.

Working directly with the BLIS Surgeon and hospital,  employers receive BLISCare risk protection as part of the bundled price.  The level of protection can be customized to each employer’s needs and specifications. Several examples are:

• Full Benefit Coverage – Employer offers bariatric surgery to employees and directly contracts with your bariatric surgeon to determine a fixed per-procedure price, including BLIS complication protection. Under this model, the employer can choose to offer this benefit to all employees who meet criteria (as determined by their surgeon) or to set a fixed number of cases per year.  

• Partnership Approach – Employer offers bariatric surgery to employees in a shared funding approach. The employee would share in a predetermined fixed portion of the cost of surgery with their employer. This model can also be combined with an employee incentive plan that includes the employer reimbursing the employee for their out of pocket costs after pre-defined employment periods have been met. Employers can customize their coverage to fit their needs.

• BLISPay Financing Program – This program can be used alone or in partnership with other coverage arrangements to provide employees with an opportunity to finance their out of pocket costs.  Extended payment plans are available to those that qualify and no down payments are required.
