When a BLIS Surgeon’s patient suffers a known complication during, or within a pre-agreed time frame following bariatric surgery, BLIS pays all providers according to pre-negotiated terms on a direct basis.  The patient has no financial responsibility for the care authorized by the BLIS Surgeon.  As a result, the hospital can lock in reasonable reimbursement rates for complication related care they would otherwise struggle to collect from financially challenged patients.  The BLIS complicaiton protection is backed up by a highly rated licensed insurance carrier providing the hospital facility with a high degree of risk protection.

Often cash strapped patients feel they have no recourse but to seek legal redress when facilities attempt to collect on complication related care.  With BLISCare in place, the patient receives the needed extra care without receiving the extra bill, thus less motivated to pursue legal action.

Cash-pay patients pay their full facility fee prior to surgery, thus improving the hospital’s cash flow and bottom line.  Hospital facilities can eliminate billing/collection related expenses and bad debt write-off when they participate in BLIS.  Complication related care reimbursement is pre-negotiated with BLIS.
