BLIS was founded in the northwest by two insurance specialists
Reginald G. Schindler: Mr. Schindler is President, CEO and co-founder of BLIS, Inc. He began his career with Federated Insurance in Owatonna, MN then spent several years serving as the Assistant Risk Manager for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Mr. Schindler moved to Portland, OR in 1995 to serve as Director of Risk Management for Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, OR then left OHSU in 1999 to start his own consulting practice where he specialized in the development of alternative insurance and risk financing programs. He continued working as a consultant in the insurance and healthcare markets until assuming the role as CEO of BLIS in 2005.
Arthur G. Richards: Mr. Richards is a senior insurance professional and risk management consultant, former President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Portland and Board member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Oregon. He is a specialist in high-risk medical malpractice insurance and is the current Insurance Agent of Record for The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
