BLIS helps surgeons protect patients in two ways:

BLISCare pays medical providers for the patient's complication related care authorized by their BLIS Surgeon.
BLIS only approves the highest quality bariatric surgeons.

Ultimately, the most important decision patients make regarding surgery is who they trust to perform it. BLIS has done the research and examined the outcomes of many bariatric surgeons nationwide. Only those with a high rate of successful outcomes and low complication rates (compared to national expected bariatric outcomes) are eligible to join BLIS. BLIS continually evaluates each surgeon’s outcomes against the BLIS proprietary outcomes dataset in order to ensure a high degree of quality.
