What is BLIS?
BLIS is a highly specialized, privately held company whose mission is to improve access to surgery. BLIS provides specialty products which address two of the main concerns for potential weight loss surgery patients: how to pay for surgery and what happens in the event of a complication related to surgery.
BLIS has created an insurance product, BLISCare, to address the surgical risks of complications following weight loss surgery and BLISPay, a patient finance solution, in partnership with Chase Health Advance. BLIS also provides marketing services which help practices to grow their case volumes and profitability.
As of October 2009, BLIS has covered over 1,700 cases and taken care of over $4 million dollars on behalf of covered patient’s complication related care. BLIS has over 110 active surgeons across the country offering BLISCare complication protection to their patients.
